Abridged Season Preview

Hey all! It’s been a while since my last post, I know. I’m sure you were all getting ready to pass this blog off as dead or dying, but ya can’t get rid of me that easily (I hope)!

Since I don’t have a ton of time right now, but I still want to post something if only to pump some life back into the blog, I decided to cheat a bit in terms of my season preview. Instead of my usual lengthy post full of my special brand of rambly, I just wrote on the Fall chart instead (an idea I stole from Draggle’s Anime Blog EDIT: emperorj, apparently). It was fun, but probably not something I’ll do on a regular basis since I quite like talking for a while about the various seasonal shows. Anywho, onto the preview!

Summer 2013 Preview

Summer, the season of hot weather, frigid houses and playing catch-up. I typically spend Summer cooped up in my house reading books, watching anime, and sleeping, blissfully lazing my summer away. This is the season where I usually manage to watch shows week to week instead of saying I will and then forgetting about them. Miraculously, I managed to finish 2 last year, so here’s to hoping I’ll be able to top that this year. Though I went in thinking this season wasn’t too spectacular, after looking at the chart and crossing off all the stuff I won’t watch, there’s actually a decent number of shows left that look like they could be entertaining.

As usual, I hope you all read/skim through and enjoy. Please don’t be afraid to comment and tell me what you all think of the season and what you’re planning to watch or not watch.

Spring 2013 Preview

Ah Spring, the season of testing aplenty and the start of the warm weather that only momentarily left us here in SoCal. To be honest, spring kind of snuck up on me and I’m finding myself in a mad scramble now to play a game of catch up. First and foremost, I should apologize for how late I’m sure this is and, yes, I know that a good number of shows have already started. So, before I jump right in and give you all the preview I’m sure you’ve all been waiting for with baited breath (don’t worry, I wont’ tell anyone), I thought I’d share some changes I’ve decided to make. This season, I’ve decided to try and actually give a semblance of order to the shows here (least anticipated to most), as well as exclude some of the obvious ones I won’t be watching (sequels, super kiddy shows, etc.) in order to take up less time and give your scrolling finger a break. That said, I hope you enjoy and don’t be afraid to share what you’re thinking about/are watching (or not watching) in the comments!

Winter Season Preview

Man, it feels like just yesterday that I was hurriedly cranking out that Fall season post, with my many mental promises to watch everything I wanted to. Well, just like those bright and colorful fall leaves, those dreams were dead from the start and blew away in the wind of school pretty quickly. As most of the twelve episode shows are finishing up though, it’s probably time to get my butt moving on those, especially Girls und Panzer which is turning out to be be pretty well recieved. Looks can be deceiving! Oh that’s right, Winter Season. Well, to say the least, this season looks a bit lacking. There are a few shows that look like they might be alright, but the majority isn’t too promising. For many, myself included, looks like this season will be a time to curl up beside our hypothetical fireplaces with the snow softly falling (except here in SoCal of course) and catch up on our backlogs…or do other stuff.

As the curtain begins to fall on the summer season, the time has come to eagerly await  the upcoming fall season.

Since I’ve always admired them from afar, now that I have my own blow I thought I’d try out those cool looking “Season Preview” posts that I’ve seen other bloggers diligently put together. Even though it was a lot of work and took me forever, putting this together was pretty fun and I enjoyed doing it. Even though I was planning to put these in some sort of order, getting this out as soon as possibly trumps that, so everything’s pretty jumbled up. To be honest, though, since I have a pretty hopeful outlook regarding most shows a ranking probably would have been a pain in the butt. I tried my hardest to include all the shows on the season preview chart and to give some thoughts on each.

As for this upcoming fall season in general, I think it has a lot of potential. There are a few shows that have potential to set themselves a part from the rest, and few that look like they’ll by, at the least, an entertaining watch. Personally, though, I’m pretty excited for the shoujo adaptations coming out because I don’t think that enough good ones have been adapted. Overall, I have pretty high hopes for this season and I think it could possibly churn out a a few gems…and perhaps a few train wrecks.

While it may not be the best preview ever, I hope you enjoy skimming  reading through it.
